The Ministry of Rural Development and Food is in the pleasant position to provide to the public, attended through the network, all the chronological series that is provided for a range of vegetable and animal production. |
| Concerning the
quality of these data and the relevant methodology applied, the following
explanations are provided: The present Agricultural Statistical information in Greece is attended by two agencies, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (EL.STAT) and the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. The EL.STAT. operates on the level of agricultural exploitation, as well as on research on the level of Municipality or Community, the Annual Agricultural Statistics. The Ministry of Rural Development and Food gathers the statistical records and the information concerning the predictions of the land for the annual cultivations and the production of vegetable and animal products, as well as the final elements of the above financial sizes with the method of estimations carried out by the experts of the regional services. The differences of these records with others that are similar, that derive come from other sources or from the same source are justified, due to the different method of evaluation of the sizes (research on the level of agricultural exploitation, areas frame sampling, subsidizes actions etc) or from the evaluation of the same financial sizes from the other experts. Parallel to the above-mentioned sources, they are used from the other agencies (e.g. services from the E.U) other approaches, like the recording of the land with methods of photo-assessments. |
STATISTICAL CHRONOLOGICAL SEQUENCE |
| The records of
chronological sequences of vegetable and animal production, that are presented
here are, as referred at the beginning, evaluations of specialists of the
prefecture services of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. |
| The prices of
the producers are gathered either from the centers of trade of agricultural
products (traders, co-operations) or from producers via the prefecture services
of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. The producer prices are wholesale prices, referring to farm-gate (transfer expenses are not included from the cultivation to the centers of collection) including indirect financial assistance and are free from extra expenses (e.g. deduction for farm security). |
| The
research of milk and dairy products is financed by E.U and is conducted
by the regulation 96/16/EK of the Council. It gathers records that are relative
with the usage of milk and of the products that derive from the processing
of agricultural cultivations as well as from dairy businesses. |

| The formation
of the balance sheets of agricultural products is based on Gentlemen’s agreement
One balance sheet includes the following basic facts: Production + Initial Supplies + Imports = Exports + Internal Uses + Final Stocks. |
